Mick Bishop

Mick joins our team with emphasis on new and pre-owned boat sales and brokerage listings. The following provides an insight into Micks boating experiences and some background into his passion for helping boat owners buy the boat that suits their needs.

How long have you been involved with boats and boating?
Since I was a kid I have always had a love of the water and boats.

What is you past history in terms of your involvement with boating either professionally or personally?
I have been around boats most of my life, my passion is game fishing and have owned several boats over the last 15 years, I currently own a Grady-White. I get out on the water in my own boat as often as I can, I am at my happiest when I’m on or around the water. I worked in the fishing and boating sector in retail for 5 years prior to joining the team at GLB.

What do you like about being involved in the boating and marine industry?
Having the opportunity to get out in the sun and be around boats and the water, I get to experience and learn about some amazing boats. We have some of the best brands in the world which I am fortunate to be involved in. 

What do you enjoy about working with your customers and team mates at Game & Leisure Boats? 
I enjoy meeting like-minded people and helping people whereever I can. It’s a small but great team at GLB, everyone is knowledgeable, professional, honest, hardworking and we all work great together as a team.

What’s your best professional trait?
I think my best professional trait is definitely my honesty, and wiliness to help others. I see so many boat owners who don’t give enough consideration to what the right boat is to suit their existing boating lifestyle. I like to understand exactly how they use their boat and then find and recommend the best boat to suit their needs. It always ends up being a better ownership experience for the clients.
